Our new SGS8 has an SW500 coating. The reel combines sealed 8+1 steel ball bearings, a sealed drag system, a lightweight and strong aluminum body, and a Carbon Reinforced Composite rotor to withstand saltwater. And withstanding the constant onslaught of saltwater isn't this reel's only strength. The 'Friction Control System 3' uses triple-layer seals, a fiberglass layer with a carbon fiber layer on each side. This gives the seals unrivaled rigidity, providing super-smooth and strong, fish-stopping traction, and means they can be reversed to extend their lifespan.
